New to me

Well, this is definitely something new for me.  I am going to go ahead and apologize up front because I am not that great of a writer!  My grandmother writes short stories about family gatherings, her neighborhood, family holidays, and family trips.  She also had a book of her poems published a few years ago.  She is very talented when it comes to expressing herself with words.  My father is a United Methodist minister so he is also very gifted with the talent of teaching and preaching with words.  I did not inherit that gene.  For the last 12 years, the people I interact with on a daily basis have been under the age of 12!  I consider it a good day if I have been able to have one conversation with an adult.

I have decided to attempt to keep this blog updated mainly for a selfish reason.  I want to put into words what I am thankful for.  Each day during Lent I want to find one thing I am thankful for and write about it.  Often I go to bed worried about what I haven't accomplished or what went wrong that day.  I am hoping that this will force me to realize that I am truly blessed.  I have so much to be thankful for but how many times do I express that in my prayers.  The answer to that is not very often at all.

I hope that anyone reading this will choose to start their day and end their day with thanksgiving!  Not just on that particular Thursday in November but the other 364 days of the year!

The blogs will officially start on Ash Wednesday! Thanks for reading!

OK, so maybe I won't be jumping everyday but I promise to celebrate each day!
