After a very long break, I have decided to get back to my blog. I haven't written since Easter. I had intended to write some this summer about all of my fun activities, but I honestly just didn't have the time. A few months back I had several facebook friends that did a 30 day Disney photo challenge. I thought that this was a great idea and a wonderful way to show my love for Disney in gearing up for my trip! So I decided to steal the idea and use it myself!
My family and I will leave on October 14th for a week at my most favorite place on Earth (well one of two!) I was very fortunate as a child to experience the magic of Disney at least once a year. I had family that lived in Cocoa and Lakeland, Florida so my family traveled down to see them each spring. Lucky for me, we went to the Magic Kingdom almost every trip. When Epcot opened then we started visiting there too. As well as the other parks when they opened. I have many happy memories from our many trips to Disney World. I hope that this year we will be able to make many more.
Back in 1997 my family made the last trip of my "childhood." My brother was still in high school and I was in college. That was the last trip we made for almost 10 years. I finally decided that for my 30th birthday I wanted to go back, so my brother set a trip up for just the two of us. I was so excited I couldn't stand the wait. We were staying on Disney property. That was a first because most of our other family trips we stayed with our family. We were booked to stay at Pop Century Resort. We had our park hopper passes and were ready to go. This trip turned out to be one of my favorites ever. We had so much fun and believe it or not only got into one fight which was over the fact that my "baby" brother is just a bit taller than me and was walking a little too fast for my short legs to keep up! On this trip we experienced many Disney first together. Neither of us had ever been to Animal Kingdom, the last time we were there Soaring wasn't open at Epcot, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster wasn't at Disney Studios, and of course we hadn't experienced staying on property.
Since the trip with Wes in 2006, I have been back 3 times. I am eagerly awaiting our departure on October 14th. I hope you enjoy my Disney blog the next few weeks! Keep checking in for new updates and my 30 day picture challenge.
